I hate computers :-[.

So right now I would be posting my research proposal but because of retarded wires and dumb hardware my computer no longer works. So now I have to sit in a stinky computer lab in order to get my work done.......SUCKS.

My Potential Research Topics

I have come up with three topics I may possibly write my research paper on. They are:

One topic that I am considering researching is Stem Cell Research and how it affects society. During the presidential election, this was a heavily debated topic. I never actually looked into its importance, but I'm sure it plays a large part in the morality of our country. My goals would be to gain an understanding of what exactly stem cell research is, how our country can benefit from it, and also the flaws in this science.

Another topic I am interested in is the Effects of Drugs on the Mind. For the past couple of years I have had a family member deal with drug abuse. It has been determined that his drug use has triggered hereditary psychological problems, and led to newly developed psychological disorders. This particular situation has made me curious as to how drugs like marijuana and cocaine affect the brain's thought process. I am also interested in what medications can help deal with problems from drugs.

My final topic is the Evolution of Hip-Hop Dance. I have been dancing just about my whole entire life. It is one of my many passions. Many older styles that I have seen seem to have a piece of what hip-hop dance is today and I would like to go deeper into how this popular dance style today how grown. I would like to know how exactly hip-hop dance came about, the other styles of dance that have influenced it, how this culture has affected the world.

Things that bug me...... :-[

• When girls wear scarves out in public.
• Bow Ties
• Dirty Kitchens
• When people stereotype dancers.
• Being lied to.
• Black stereotypes.

Things that I don't know much about.....but interesting::::....

Welll there are a lot of things that I am interested in but never really looked into......

1. Stem Cell Research (don't even know what it is! Only heard about it through the election...LOL)
2. Elegant Desserts (never been exposed to them...)
3. The Process of Producing a Song (music: one of my many passions....)
4. Ballet (a lil weird, I know....but as a dancer I think it will teach me control)
5. The Effects of Drugs on the Mind (personal reasons...)
6. Running a Fashion Show (I like to dress...when I'm not going to class...LOL)

Things we had to do for last class.....

After looking at the library at the periodicals and magazines, I found three that I thing that I might like.......

1. Creative Screenwriting
2. Broadcasting & Cable
3. The International Review of African American Art

These magazines have a lot to do with my personal interest. Some things I am interested in are:

Soo...my road to research

English.....wow its beesn very interesting. This subject was never my cup of tea...LOL. I could do the work but I never could really focus enough to get into it. I always just did enough to get by. Once I got to high school things changed. We were required to read the newspaper every class, take notes on it and cite the article. Then every Friday we had to write an essay answering a question based on the weeks current events. I was then on my road to doing research. Every year something new got added to the mix. We went from starting with reading during class, to outside of class. From a local newspaper that was easy to read, to the New York Times at a higher level of reading. This basically forced me into focusing...LOL.

In addition to this, in order to graduate we were required to write a 10 page research paper on the topic of our choice. So I guess you can say I have a little bit of experience. Although I should state that my 10 page paper only ended up being about 6...LOL
